  We were celebrating my boyfriends birthday and we had felt we didn't want our usual seafood or steak birthday dinner. So immediately I got on yelp and just began researching, soon enough I came across ROOH, it definitely caught my attention for many reasons, the uniqueness of the food, ambience, pretty drinks, and the great reviews.
  
  We had made reservations for Saturday at 6:30pm, however we were running late due to Sf traffic, so I had called them to let them know we are running behind and they were accommodating and booked us for 7pm. Once we arrived around 6:50pm they seated us immediately despite it being packed.
  
  Once we were seated, our server Piyush, was rather friendly and helpful. their drink menu was set up nicely according to sweet, bitter, salty, pungent and astringent which really makes it super easy to decide! Prior, to ordering a drink I had seen pictures of pretty drinks, however the one I got was pretty mediocre maybe I had high expectations from the pictures, but mine didn't taste that good or look pretty, which was a bummer. The drink I got was called the hemachal sherbet. The drink my boyfriend got was called somras, which he throughly enjoyed.
  
  Our wonderful experience began with dahi puri and lusin chicken tikka. The chicken tikka was so different and creamy, the chicken was tender and delicious. Anytime I got to an Indian restaurant I personally stay away from the meat because I feel Indians are known for their delicious vegetarian dishes, however this was an exception. For our entree with ordered the fried cauliflower, pinwheel paneer and saffron rice. the highlight for me was the pinwheel paneer, it was SO beautiful that I almost didnt want to eat it. The paneer was made to perfection The cauliflower was also flavorful with a great fusion touch that keep me wanting more and the saffron rice was perfect long grained and cooked al dente, absolutely delicious food over all. I actually cant wait to go back to check out more of their food, so many options to choose from!
  
  I REALLY wanted to their basin barfi for dessert, however we had other plans for dessert so thats on my list for next time!
  
  Yes, it is over all more on the pricey side, but it was worth every penny in my opinion, great food, great service, and wonderful ambience!

  Went here with a friend to grab a bite to eat for dinner on a Friday night. The place was pretty crowded so thankfully we had a reservation and were able to be seated right away.
  
  To start off the meal, we decided to go with the chutney sampler. This was super delicious as the chutneys were all quite unique and paired nicely with the pitas--which were the real star of the dish.
  
  We followed that up with an order of the crispy cauliflower, which I could have easily eaten 7 or 8 plates of as it was so tasty.
  
  Then after my friend talked up their butter chicken and saffron rice, we both went with that and enjoyed it as well. The flavor was good--not as good as the other dishes--but the chicken was super tender and paired with more pita, it was delicious.
  
  Overall, I think I had about 6 pitas myself as they just had great flavor and chewiness which paired well with the dishes. Though I enjoyed the food--like really enjoyed it, I felt like it was a bit pricey--so just keep that in mind, but not a bad choice for a nice night out.

  We picked up this place for our friend's Bachelorette dinner. Had a reservation so we were seated promptly.
  Wanting to check out the hype we ordered quite some food here. Some dishes like the Paneer Pinwheel and the Lamb Kheema were indeed delicious and lived up to the expectations. But, other dishes were equally disappointing.
  The desserts are pretty good.
  
  Our server did not bother to ask us how we liked the food. When we received our check, we had a 20% gratuity added in even when we were a party of 5. Upon bringing this to the attention of our server, he picked up the check and returned immediately with a corrected bill.
  That didn't seem right.
  Debating if it was a deliberate attempt after all!
  
  All in all, a good one time experience. Food is 4/5 but the service was not satisfactory.

  ROOH is an upscale cocktail bar with unique and tasty Indian dishes. We first came to ROOH on Monday Night before an event in Oracle park. We wanted a restaurant with good ambiance but also good (vegetarian-friendly) food, so ROOH checked both those boxes.
  
  We didn't have a reservation but were promptly seated at the bar. The bar seating was cute but I'm glad my booty wasn't any bigger as it was tight and I'm fairly average sized (sorry if TMI but did want to give a heads up on that!!).
  
  Anywho, onto the food... we ordered the chutney sampler, Dali puri and paneer chili roll as appetizers. For entrees, we ordered the paneer pinwheels, salmon & bay shrimp paturi, veg curry of the day (chana masala on this day) and a side of rice and naan. This all was the perfect amount for 4 people, though we may have been able to actually eat a little more given the option.
  
  The portions were fairly small but nicely plated, typical of fine dining. The flavors were excellent and I loved the use of saffron as garnish on many dishes. We paired this meal with beers for $6 which we thought was pretty reasonable given the price of everything else.
  
  Overall- the restaurant is an upscale Indian restaurant, and the ambiance, portions, and of course prices are indicative of that. With other cultures regularly doing this type of dining experience (French, Spanish, Italian), I am happy to see the most delicious cuisine - Indian - having a rightful place in this category. And the dishes are so great and creative here too!!
  
  However I'd still consider ROOH pretty pricey so I'd have to recommend this just as a date spot or on the company card if you're lucky.

  Amazing!! I love how the chef has taken classic Indian dishes/flavors and transformed them into unique, modern dishes. My favorite was the jackfruit taco and the Dahi Puri that had rose in it. The paneer pinwheel was also super good, and would recommend the vegetable and fava dumplings as well  
  Their drinks menu is delicious too!
